If what we collect ever changes, this page changes first.
We count page views, measure how fast pages load, and measure which of our ads bring people here. Since August 24, 2026 that runs through Google Analytics, which sets a cookie and tells Google about the visit. We never sell it, and we never give it to anyone deciding a claim.
Two kinds. A sign-in cookie in the member portal, so you stay logged in while you are using it. And a Google Analytics cookie on the public pages, so a second visit from you is not counted as a second person, and so we can tell which advertising brought you here.

We will never share your details with an insurer, an employer, or any other third party.
The Alliance exists for people the system has harmed, so privacy here is a commitment, not fine print.
1What we collect
- 1.1If you ask to be told when charter signing opens: your email address, and your name if you give it. That is a waiting list and nothing more. It is not a signature, it does not make you a member, and it puts you on no mailing list. We send one email, on the day signing opens.
- 1.2If you sign the charter: your name, your role, your email, and your choice about public listing.
- 1.3If you take part as a member: the lens you choose, the practice patterns you contribute, the patterns you endorse, your choices about being credited by name, whether your name appears on the public founding-signatories list, and which member emails you have turned on. You can change or remove these yourself in the portal.
- 1.4If you email us: whatever you choose to write, at the address you wrote to.
- 1.5If you just visit the public pages: we count page views, so we can see which pages get read: the page address, where the visit came from, your rough region, and the kind of device and browser. We also measure how fast the page loaded for you, so we can find the pages that are slow to arrive. Since August 24, 2026 this runs through Google Analytics, which sets a cookie on your device and sends the visit to Google. We also advertise, because a standard nobody finds changes nothing. We run search advertising through the Google Ad Grant for non-profits, and we use what Analytics tells us to see which ads bring people who go on to read something, and to put this work in front of more of the people who need it. None of it can tell us your name. What we will never do is sell it, or give it to an employer, an insurer, or anyone deciding a claim. Like any website, the service that hosts us also keeps brief automatic logs, such as the time of a request and a rough region, to keep the site running and secure. We do not use them to identify or follow you.
- 1.6Cookies: two kinds. The member portal sets a sign-in cookie, so you stay logged in while you are using it. Google Analytics sets a counting cookie on the public pages, so that if you come back we can tell it is a returning visit rather than a new person, and so we can tell which advertising brought you here. It holds a random number, not your name. Blocking cookies in your browser, or using any content blocker, stops all of it, and nothing on this site stops working when you do.
2What we do with it
- 2.1Your signature joins you to the charter. Your name and role appear with the founding signatories when the charter publishes, unless you chose to stay off the public list, in which case your signature is counted and your name is not shown.
- 2.2Your contributions are reviewed and may be synthesized into the Standard. Your name appears in a version’s history only with your consent, which you control for each contribution. The membership and contribution terms explain this in full, including what stays yours.
- 2.3Your email is used to send your one-time sign-in links, your welcome note, and the member updates you have turned on. It never appears publicly.
3Where it is stored, and who helps us
- 3.1Your details are stored in a database in Canada. Your email address is held in the sign-in system, separate from your member profile.
- 3.2The charter waiting list is kept apart from all of that, in the Alliance’s own Microsoft 365 records, and it is not connected to the member database in any way.
- 3.3A small number of service providers help us run the Alliance: the database and sign-in service that stores your details, and the email service that sends your links and notices. They may use your details only to provide that service to us, and for nothing else.
- 3.4Email you send us stays in our inboxes and is read by the people who run the Alliance, no one else.
4What we will never do
- 4.1We will never sell, rent, or trade your details.
- 4.2We will never use them to train any product.
- 4.3We will never share them with an insurer, an employer, or any other third party, except the service providers named in Section 3, who may not use them for anything else, or where the law requires it.
- 4.4We will never use what a harmed person writes to us for anything beyond reading it with care and replying.
5Your choices
- 5.1Inside the portal you can do most of this yourself, at any time: change your details and your lens, withdraw a contribution or change your credit choice before it is published, and turn member emails on or off.
- 5.2You can also withdraw your signature and close your membership whenever you like. One email to hello@napsdm.ca does it, or anything else you would rather we handle: correct your details, take your name off the public charter, or remove your signature entirely.
- 5.3It is done within seven days, your signatory number is retired, and a person confirms when it is finished.
- 5.4To come off the charter waiting list, email hello@napsdm.ca and we delete the entry. You do not have to give a reason.
6Using this site
- 6.1Everything published here is information, not legal, medical, or financial advice. The evidence pages cite their primary sources so you can check them, and the court record speaks for itself.
